As human beings, we categorize our world to make sense of it. This practice naturally extends to each other, glancing at others and giving them familiar identities. With this project, I want to know how others identify themselves. With whom do they feel a sense of belonging? Of similarity? With each participant I photograph, I ask them these questions. Their answers reveal which parts of their lives they feel are more or less important. Who they feel more connected to. Their responses continue to fascinate me.
